Our client is looking for a Graduate Fire Engineer

Are you a proactive, flexible individual who has recently graduated from university with a degree relevant to the fire engineering sector?

My client is offering a fantastic opportunity for a graduate fire engineer who is currently based around the London or Bicester area to join them at a particularly exciting time of growth and development for the business.

With countless opportunities to get involved in projects nationwide, this diverse, hands-on role will involve supporting our fire engineering team, while also working through our clients Graduate Training programme.

Tasks that you may come across as part of your role include:

• Researching major projects
• Liaising directly with clients
• Fire safety advisory work, supported by a senior engineer
• Fire safety strategy development, supported by a senior engineer
• Reviewing project enquiries and issuing fee proposals
About you:
• Given the nature of the role, we would expect you to be passionate about fire safety, helping our clients to achieve compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and best practice through expert judgement and risk assessment
• You would also be expected to maintain the high quality standards we strive to maintain for each and every client, from the initial enquiry through to the final submission of each report and provision of continued support

Qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (specifically, mechanical, structural or a similar field)
• A postgraduate fire engineering qualification (certificate, diploma or masters)

You will:

• Liaise directly with client and project stakeholders
• Support the existing fire engineering team (reporting, marked up drawings, meetings, telephone call etc)
• Have a basic understanding of fire safety issues
• Work reliably and effectively with others, managing time effectively and operating within the limits of competency
• Drive your Continued Professional Development with the support of the director of fire engineering
• Possess competent IT skills, particularly with regards to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam
• Undertake other duties within the competence of the post holder, as may be reasonably required from time to time
